July 27, 2021

We're pleased to announce that registration is now open for our free webinar series on 2SLGBTQI inclusion for mental health and social services providers! Our first webinar dates are August 4 at 12 PM ET, and August 5 at 7 PM ET. Please note registration is limited, so register now by clicking here.

2SLGBTQI people are falling through the gaps in the Canadian mental health system. 2SLGBTQI people are especially vulnerable both amid the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Exclusion, discrimination and a lack of cultural competence in mental health systems prevent vulnerable 2SLGBTQI people from accessing the inclusive services and care they need to manage mental health.

During this 90-minute interactive webinar, participants will have the chance to learn about 2SLGBTQI identities and the impact of structural and cultural biases on 2SLGBTQI mental health and well-being. They will learn evidence-based strategies that they can immediately implement in their practice to foster sensitivity and inclusion for the 2SLGBTQI community and leave with further learning resources to support their effort.

This webinar is designed with the following practitioners in mind:

  • psychiatrists
  • psychologists
  • counsellors
  • social workers
  • personal support workers
  • palliative and long-term care workers
  • and professionals in educational and social services settings

If you or someone you know works in mental health and social services, click here to learn more and register for your free webinar.

Back on July 14 for International Non-Binary People’s Day, we launched #DealThemIn – which re-imagined playing cards as a non-binary representation of all people to send the message that if a 1000-year-old cultural icon can discard gender norms, we all can.
